SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

Life Support activates the four components of well-being -economic, ecological, social and physical - to address preventative health in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. In view of the expensive cost of healthcare in NYC, a preventive approach of lifestyle is always a requisite.  The main objective of this project is mitigating the air pollution issues along the Gowanus Expressway, as well as developing a healthy lifestyle for the multi-ethnic and lower income people of this area. A preventative approach of healthcare in dense sites like Brooklyn can lead to the overall welfare of New York State. In Sunset Park, activities for the reconfiguration of the industrial coast, such as promoting activation among small businesses, manufacturing, and mixed use and open spaces, will address the economic problems of unemployment and poverty, environmental problems and the need for open spaces for socio-cultural activities.
