SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
Los Angeles Zoo & Botanical Gardens is owned, operated, and maintained by the City of Los Angeles. As part of the Giant Panda Conservation program, LA Zoo, with support of organizations around the globe including National Geographic and WWF World Wide Fund for Nature are working together to reduce habitat destruction, stop over-hunting, create sustainable conservation programs, and educate people about declining animal populations. The Zoo Panda Teather exhibits panda species found around the world. Visitors will get a taste of the depths of south central China and learn about the panda’s classification, subspecies, pathologies, genomics and diet. The admission will provide financial support for various conservation efforts worldwide.
