Designed for two families, the Elk Avenue Village is located within walking distance from Americana, the new residential and commercial development in downtown Glendale. The design of these two Unified Dwellings was inspired by the traditional typology of the neighborhood and the client’s interest to respect the site’s context. Built in a colonial style each two-story home comprises 3 bedrooms and 2½ bathrooms. The driveway and entrance for the front unit are accented by oak trees to ensure privacy. The recessed shape and articulation of the facades minimizes the verticalness of the neighbor’s view, while creating comfortable indoor spaces.
